INEC CELEBRATES 49TH FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY AMID COVID-19 PANDEMIC
The Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) celebrated its 49th foundation anniversary amid the COVID-19 pandemic on July 7, 2020, with this year’s theme “Connecting People and Fostering Countryside Development”.
The celebration kicked off with a thanksgiving mass at Area 2 in Laoag City and was viewed simultaneously in the different area offices attended by Board of Directors (BOD) headed by President Enrico “Cocoy” Ruiz, General Manager Felino Herbert P. Agdigos, and the management & staff of Area 2.
On behalf of the BOD, president Ruiz said that he salutes all the linemen with their courage and bravery in serving INEC particularly the MCOs despite the present COVID-19 pandemic. “With INEC’s true dedication in serving the people, the cooperative reaps the true meaning of success as evidenced by the many awards received from the National Electrification Administration”, President Ruiz disclosed.
INEC General Manager Agdigos said that the celebration is one of the most awaited moment of INEC culminating the hardships and sacrifices of everyone and recognizing the loyalty & commitment of the employees. But in this time of pandemic, the grand celebration has to be sacrificed.
Agdigos said that INEC is part of the healing nation due to the COVID-19 pandemic and that during the quarantine period, INEC officials and employees positioned themselves in the backlines to give support to the front liners in battling the deadly virus.
INEC had skeletal forces and employees who worked from home during the ECQ.
According to him, he was thankful that everyone is safe and healthy saying that the crisis remains as a challenge to overcome and serves as a guide in responding and meeting the needs of the MCOs.
“Our customer service has to be better than today because we will be dealing and facing tremendously in social and environmental transformation”, Agdigos said.
“As we begin another milestone, let our experiences and struggles guide us to be a better person so we can make INEC a better INEC. It’s not the number of years that count but the legacy we leave”, Agdigos ended.
