INEC UNVEILS SCADA SYSTEM.
The house of the SCADA system that aims to enhance the operation and quick response for troubleshooting, repair and maintenance has been inaugurated and blessed on July 7, 2020, at INEC Area 2, Laoag City.
The Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) was installed as part of the celebration of Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) 49th year anniversary.
INEC general manager Engr. Felino P. Agdigos said that the system is beneficial to both INEC and the Member-Consumer-Owners (MCOs).
He said that it will help the linemen find the cause of unscheduled power interruptions easier and faster through the computer network.
Likewise, every line and electric posts of INEC can be monitored. Linemen and engineers will no longer need to physically survey the stretch of electric lines just to figure out what cause problems in the distribution lines. Hence, faster response time in solving distribution system problems is expected.
The technology provides real-time status of every sub-station due to its technical capability.
Agdigos believes that the system will enhance the cooperative’s operation, distribution line reliability and provide satisfaction to the MCOs.
